Wedding Expo Tips

  • Save your hands!

Labels, labels, labels. Everyone will want your contact information. Take time before you head to a bridal fair to print labels with any information vendors might need, including your name, address, email, cellphone and wedding date, and you won’t end up with writer’s cramp by the end of the first hour.

  • Dress comfortably.

Wear comfortable clothes and shoes. Most bridal fairs are at convention centers and hotels, which means walking on carpet-covered concrete floors, so your feet will tire. Layers are a good plan for clothing, too.

  • Bring your appetite!

Come hungry. There will be plenty of food, from appetizers to entrees to cake, cake and more cake to sample.

  • Come organized!

Be ready to book vendors. Bring your debit card, credit card, checkbook or whatever you use to pay for things. The best, most popular vendors will book up quickly for the best dates – May, June, September and October remain the busiest months for weddings. So if you have your date and find the photographer of your dreams, put down a deposit and lock in a deal.

  • Bring the Squad!

Bring people you trust and whose opinion you value. Everyone will have a thought about your every decision when it comes to the wedding, so it’s better to have folks around you who are supportive.

  • Timing is everything.

Plan your day wisely. The busiest time at a wedding fair is when the doors open. If you can, show up a little later and take advantage of the afternoon lull. If there are two fashion shows, plan to come for the second one as it will be less crowded and you can snag a seat closer to the runway.

  • Make a day of it!

There will be a cafe available to purchase lunch or imbibe with a glass of wine, a mimosa or a Bloody Mary to make your day fun and festive!

  • Grab a seat!

The fashion show is the highlight of the Expo. Make sure to nab seats for you and your posse early.
